We used Pelican on our last trip and it worked out quite well and was very easy.
Sorry to hijack the post, but how long is the ferry ride? And any recommendations for places to go on North/Middle Caicos with young children (4 year old twins)?
Last time we went to North Caicos ferry tickets were $40 return. The ride is about 30 minutes from Leeward Marina to North Caicos.
We only explored Middle Caicos on our last trip. We'd recommend going all the way to Bambarra Beach with Tiki Huts, then drive back and stop at Indian Caves, Flamingo Pond and Mudjin Harbor.
Here is a link to the TCI Ferry site. The fee is 40.00 round trip.
Worth the day trip.
We used Pelican Car rentals and the owner met us at the ferry terminal with the car and a map. I think at the time he only took cash.
We carried over lunch picnic and most importantly water.
We did not want to take the time to find a restaurant with just a quick trip over.

Good idea, Mike. Choices are limited and you can just plop down and eat when you get hungry. Besides a picnic on a gorgeous beach is very romatic. Just sayin......
Daniel's Cafe in Conch Bar on Middle Caicos or The Silver Palm on Whitby Beach on North Caicos are great stops for food. Daniels' s reopens sometime in October, and The Silver Palm usually in mid November so call before you make plans to eat there.
Don't forget to "LIKE" Daniel's Cafe and Blue Horizon Resort's facebook pages. You'll find a lot of photos and info there as well.
If you feel like dropping some ca$h, there is always TCI Helicopters - they'll take you over for the day.
Also, stop by the office at Blue Horizon Resort if you have interest in looking at the accommodations at BHR in case you decide to go back.
My husband and I will be returning for our 3rd trip this year to BHR in November.
PM me if you need any additional Middle info. I have a few links to books and pictures I can send along.
