Should we give up a day for an excursion?

Staying at Beaches with three 12 year old boys who enjoy snorkeling. We'll be there for 5 days. Is it worth giving up a day at the resort for a snorkeling excursion (4 hours but I'm guessing with transportation it will take the better part of a day)? I understand that there's a good snorkeling area about 10 minutes down the beach. I really appreciate any and all advice! Thanks.

Oh yes worth it. Normally it's 9-1

Boats also stop at the amazing Half Moon Bay reached only by boat. You're not giving up a day, and will be your favorite part of the trip

Definittely worth it, you'll still be on the water, in the water, and on the beach at Half Moon Bay Cay. It also gives you a different perspective on Grace Bay boating out to the reef and along the shoreline. Like Blamona says it's a highlight of a trip to Turks. You're back between 1-2 pm so you still have a couple of hours on the beach.

Google "captain bill" . My kids loved his adventure....I just liked it. Having said that I loved his dips and my kids only liked them.

They(snorkeling boats) will directly pick your party up right @ the Beaches pier area, so it's only 4 hours. Now the three 12 year olds will see those in parasailing mode over Gracie's waters and will want to experience that for about $75 each. DR. JIM

What is the best vendor to use for a snorkeling trip and best place to snorkel at Grand Turk? Only have 5 hours there from the ship.

Cheryl you may want to research this on the Grand Turk forum. This is referring to Beaches on Providenciales.
