Gets warmer as you head further south.

In addition to Anguilla, Anegada and Barbuda have similar beaches and similar temperatures (to Anguilla) as all three are in the northern Leeward Islands. However, they are more difficult to get to and are sparsely populated - consider them only if you truly "want to get away from it all". Aruba also has similar similar beaches and is very far south so will generally be a few degrees warmer.

I go to TCI every December and don't regret it!

This past Christmas was amazing!

On another note, Aruba water is doesnt come close to TCI water, but it will be warmer.

In past Decembers I've seen Anguilla get a lot of waves.

Really were talking about 3-4 degrees average difference

Grenada is a great option for December. Lovely beaches and warm water. Amazing topography with waterfalls and rainforest close to the beach. Friendly and still much less pricey than Provo/BVIs etc. Many direct flight options from the US. Anguilla can have completely calm water on one beach when another may be choppy. For a private island, Palm Island has fantastic beach, snorkeling and privacy..you will pay for it though!

Grand Cayman would be a good choice. We went to Anguilla last December - and we LOVE Anguilla - but it was very rainy, chilly and water was choppy. Same with a December trip to our other love, St. John. So if T&C is knocked off your list I would give Cayman a try. We had great winter weather there.

PS. Calm is harder to find anywhere in Caribbean in December. When the east coast of States starts changing over it creates in Caribbean what's called "Christmas winds".

December historically has waves and breezes. Usually calms down end od Dec.

Other than that, all islands are great in Dec! I've been every Dec to TCI for 18 years, and only 1 was bad. (and was bad all over Caribbean)

You might want to ask on more general Caribbean forums, as asking on TCI we're not going to steer you away!

PS great about TCI, when Grace Bay is choppy, Sapodilla and Taylor Bays are calm. So you'll find here and other islands usually have another side
