More wave pics than anybody needs to see (Grace Bay)

Played with the camera for a bit this afternoon in front of The Sands.

First half or so are taken with a 100-400mm with a doubler shooting out at the reef. Was sitting on the deck at Hemingways. Big rollers crashing out there. Pretty spectacular!

Second half (70-200mm) are mostly up along the beach in front of The Sands.

You can see in a couple of them just how far up the beach the waves are washing.

For people that know the beach here, there were people sitting on lounge chairs up under the cabanas, and water was washing under them way back there. Almost up to the stairs going up to Hemingways a couple times.

Enjoy, and like I said, there are way more here than anybody needs to see, but I was just playing.

Well, at least it's still sunny!

That's pretty amazing. From what I remember The Sands has a pretty deep beach and the water never reached that far, or high, last weekend when Tomas rolled through.

I can't believe that, amazing pictures! My friends just arrive at the West Bay Club and I had told them snorkeling was great. I guess that isn't true for a while.

Does any one know of any good snorkeling on Provo considering the wave conditions?

Tell your friends to call Dive Provo for a south side snorkel tour to French Cay or West Caicos. By the looks of it the current is still going to be tough for a lot of the week at the Bight Reef.

OMG... The beach is washed away. Is it like that all up and down Grace Bay?

Wow! Amazing doesn't even look like Grace Bay. Looks more like Meads Bay in Anguilla.

Camke - yes, it's like this all up and down Grace Bay. Pretty amazing to see how Mother Nature gives and takes away. It hasn't spoiled our vacation in the least; we're having a great time!

Thanks for posting the pictures! The waves are wild! I can't believe how far up the beach they are coming. It looks like some people are enjoying the wave action. Definitely doesn't look like a good snorkeling day at Grace Bay.

Looks to be calming a bit today.

Still rollers out on the reef, but calmer at the beach.

And don't confuse all this wave action with lack of fun.

Everybody looks to be having a wonderful time everywhere.
