While I appreciate honest reviews

I seriously can't stand people that go on vacation and have to nit pick everything about their trip that was *bad*. I pretty much take all "reviews" with a grain of salt but some people need to seriously loosen up and enjoy their vacation instead of looking for things wrong!

Couldn't agree more....but there are some people that cannot be happy, no matter what. You almost have to pity them.

People are funny. When I worked in the resort / tourism business, we used to tell our front desk staff that they'll occasionally be confronted by people who cannot and will not ever be pleased. Many of them don't want to be on vacation in the first place, but their wives or husbands insist they go.

IMO, the Caribbean is not the best destination for people who can't simply relax and "go with the flow."

I think sometimes when I'm reading a review, "I wonder if these people would be happy anywhere?" hehehe But it's good that people take the time to write reviews so that everyone can gather info...that's what the forums are about. Someone might find Turks and Caicos totally boring...not enough shopping, not enough casinos, not enough nightlife...etc. and so give a bad review based on their tastes. I would read that and say "HELL YA! That's my kind of place!" What is important to me is good weather, good food and a nice beach. I welcome all the info, good and bad and then make my decisions.

2pink1blue--I assume since you are going to Beaches , you have read the most recent Hotel review for them....I just did, Talk about complaints! Well I agree with the above posters--some people will never be happy! Have fun on your trip, I'm sure it will be wonderful!

2pink1blue. We just got back from Beaches, wife and myself, I feel we are low maintaince people. We had a great trip and we joked about things that

we saw or heard that set some people off. We also saw a few people go off

about a 2 minute wait at the bar and restaurants. You sould have a graet trip enjoy.

When hubby and I go on vacay, we r just SO chill. Nothing bothers us. I mean it really has to be an extreme for me get my panties in a bunch about it. LOL Our last trip to the carribean (virgin islands), it rained every single day we were there...:-( We still made the best of it though and i'd go back in a heart beat! I just don't get complainers on vacation.

When I read reviews I just look at the factual stuff (enough chairs at the pool, do they have babysitting, washing machines, etc etc) not someone's opinion of whether or not their hamburger was well done or not! LOL

Yes, it was the latest review for Beaches... I mean really... I'd be just pissed off if I spent that much money to be miserable and nit pick over ridiculous things and then compare it to how much fun I COULD have had somewhere else.

Just my opinion.

hahaha ..i feel the same way.

Some people just want to be pampered in every way possible and people to bow down to them when they go on vacation.

If you want that, rent your own house and hire your personal crew of butlers/maids/cooks.

I agree, especially when it is their first "contribution". It just seems to me that all the first time postings are the negative one. I always (like you ) take them with a grain of salt, especially with a place like Beaches.

This is my review of Beaches Negril and I started it out by making my expectaions clear which is I'm not going to nit-pick.

Beginning of my BN reviiew from 3/3/2011...

<.Let me start out by saying that it seems other reviewers who have never posted before obviously did not do their homework. Any diligence done (especially via Trip Advisor) will put you in the general ballpark as to what to expect. Beaches Negril is NOT the Ritz-Carlton, but then again, I do not want to be at the Ritz-Carlton. Everything was as expected with the exception of some minor issues, but nothing that could keep us from going back>.

I understand what you saying but I for one think this particular review could be useful to a lot of people – in particular the details about the uncomfortable bed, outside food, best pool. She does have some decent suggestions in there and it could be just her way to “give back” in writing a very lengthy detailed honest review, and not necessary hint on her nitpicking. Just my opinion
