Okay, what gives? Does anyone else find that the cost at Beaches is outrageous? Am I missing something? I must be.
I looked into one week for a family of four (average family size). The cheapest was $17K! Most were in the $20Ks! That seems not only completely excessive but I don't see how the average-income family could afford this. The crazy part is that the resort is practically sold out. Who's going there? Is every family multi-millionaires? What about airfare on top of this? You better have a lot of reward points!
We traveled to T&C in 2011 and went to Beaches for the day. Not bad, although some of the staff (especially the desk) were unpleasant, listless, clueless So, I looked into going this summer. We actually have 6 kids (and nanny) and wanted to go for 2 weeks. $50,000 minimum! Insulting.....
We are staying at Seven Stars this year in 4-bedroom, ground level unit right on the beach. Gorgeous resort. Not super cheap by any means but way less than Beaches. Even if we spent $1000 a day on food and activities, we would still save a bundle over Beaches. Crazy! Seven Stars is more laid back and has better, more upscale service. The kids love the pool and the beach is perfect. The accommodations are first rate and there are quite a few things right around there (casino, golf course, supermarket, shops, cafes, etc).
Tell me I'm missing something..... Is everyone getting special super deals??
