High Rise Proposal decision article

The Alexandra posted this article on facebook and I thought I would share with the TA community. I sure hope this doesn't pass. It will ruin what we all love about TCI. Seems like they may possibly have a decision made next week...

The Alexandra has a nice vacant lot, I wonder if that's where it's going.

Now they're talking three building?????? Are you kidding me?

They might as well put the tallest one in the middle. for the one finger salute affect.

I'm feeling less, and less addicted to this place eveytime i hear of this.

Funny, camke! I was going to say it will stand out like a sore thumb but I like your description better. I am going to say my prayers for sure.

My heart goes out to you as I've been through a heartbreaking love for an island.

My first trip to Aruba was in 1979 and over the years, I watched the growth and over growth to a point of thinking if one more slab of concrete gets laid that the once beautiful island will sink.

With the influx of bigger, taller compound buildings, it made the land disappear. Along came crime to an island where crime was never a thought as the outsourced workers bring family and relatives who can't find work and crime is another means of income for them. Most sadly, I watched my amazing local friends leave because of the changes to an island too very small to handle the changing times.

Reality is that money wins out and to those who never knew an island of beauty before all the big mega development - don't realize how utterly sick it makes the ones who have.

My first TCI visit is October but I will gladly say a special pray for TCI now.

The illustration in the TC Weekly News is obscene! The whole concept is obscene! Please, please, do not let this happen.

How could anyone think THAT is a good idea. It looks ridiculous. If people want NYC buildings go there.
