Curious about those that play on island...anyone here care to share their impressions of games and slots? Is there just one casino???
only 1, never "big" winnings. Just a cute little casino for some nightlife on island. It's a fairly quiet island.
Hopefully DR. JIM will reply!
He seems to do very well at the tables!
You bet!! I have a job there @ the Casino cleaning their Blackjack21 tables nightly when I am on the Island. The first night there I gave/left them a $200 entrance fee(tip), I lost. Then the next 13 nights I demanded more more money to clean their tables. I usually work alone, sometimes DR. VICKI would help when the tables were especially messy that night. I would work anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours a night. By the end of our full 2 weeker, I got paid about $15K. It averaged out to about $500/hr(I don't work cheap). Now, a little story about how I received my cash out pay day the last night we were on the Island. DR. VICKI went into the Casino with 8 $1000 Casino plates(square chips) shortly after they opened late afternoon. Received 80 Ben Frank's. Then she went back after we had a 2nd dinner @ Coco Bistro about 9pm. This time, she wasn't received very well @ the Cashier's Cage. The next 7 $1000 Casino plates she placed on the counter were scurtinized by no fewer than 3 Casino employees and the Casino manager was called. "We don't recall you winning all these Casino plates here" Was his snippy response. Well, this is how she got paid after a 5 minute delay. She got back all $600 of my $2 bills(buy in money). Then was paid in mostly $5's, 10's, $20's, $50's(NO Ben Frank's). She got the message. They now knew she was that beautiful woman with me a couple of nights assisting me cleaning their tables. I was out in our rental van with my 3 young daughters waiting patiently. I realized what was happening because more than 10 minutes had passed. This same thing had happened last year the second time she went in to cash my Casino plates here. Only it was $4K the first and $4K the second time. So this time , I would say I was a Big winner by most peoples' standards @ the Island's only real Casino .DR. JIM

Wow. We will be in Provo in early December. I also am an avid Blackjack player. The best Blackjack players in the world (using the more sophisticated versions of the card counting systems) win a little more than 50% of the time. What % of the time do you win DR. JIM?
RAK, I was thinking the same thing..
So, DR JIM how did you declare that on your customs form? I did notice that you took the payout in 2 increments. Don't worry, just curious, no affiliation w/IRS...........
Answers to last several posts. RAK-It was my English version-- I could probably attempt my half Spanish written skills- though not as proficient as my verbal Spanish speaking skills are. MisterP- About 60% because of my advanced blackjack skills/knowledge, disciplined money management, advanced tracking/counting cards, adjustment to basic strategy in relationship to the count, percentages % involved in the dealer's up busting, influences of rule variations, 45 years experience playing the game, etc. Lyonfish- IRS only receives a W-2 G (gaming) form for documented wins on electronic games(slot machines & video poker) for amounts over $1200. Also lotteries varies by states. Michigan requires a W2-G for wins over $500, again for documented wins on a single game. When you play Blackjack21 they would have no way to moniter every single hand you win unless it's over $10K for that winning hand. You can change tables, play @ different times/dates, etc. My win was over a 2 week period. Both DR. VICKI & I are astute for disclosing the $10k money daily laundering transaction thing. Customs gets the same consideration about that $10K. That's why you check that box YES if you have over $10K on your person or have in your possession of. DR. JIM
Edited: 13 September 2013, 23:58Good answer. I understood it. I think the more you read your posts Dr J, the more you understand them. Like drinking scotch, it's an acquired taste.
