Dining

We are first timers arriving in Provo on March 23rd. Which restaurants are recommended and how early do you need to make reservations. Also are there any special sights that we should visit. Looking forward to a relaxing and warm vacation. Thank you for your help.

Relaxing and warm sounds fabulous after this winter!

Coco Bistro, Caicos Cafe, Bay Bistro, Baci, Mango Reef are great and get consistently good reviews. I haven't been to Coyoba (yet), but hear it's lovely, though expensive.

Hemmingway's for lunch is very nice...fish tacos are great!

Have a wonderful time!

A couple of places for lunch would be Sharkbite(Turtle Cove) for trying their famous Conch Chowder and Ricky's Flamingo Cafe(Leeward) best curried grouper. DR. JIM

If you are a fan of seared Ahi tuna-then check out Magnolia's above Turtle Cove and enjoy the sunset.

For a fine dining experience check out Pavilion at Somerset which is receiving great reviews.

We also really like Bay Bistro and Coco Bistro.

Hope that this helps.

I was in Provo last week, and by far, the best few hours I spent were visiting Taylor Bay and then having lunch at Las Brisas overlooking Chalk Sound. Beautiful water at Taylor Bay - clear for several hundred feet off shore (and not at all crowded). And Las Brisas was one of my favorite meals of the vacation because of both the food and the setting. You would need a rental car to visit them, but it is well worth it, even if you only rent the car for a day or two. Enjoy!

Had a look at Pavilion last evening. They are pronouncing it (pah-vEE-yon). Am loving the redesign and that new RAW BAR. Very tasty hors d'oeurves, MUST return soon for a dinner! The full menu is in the 2014 Providenciales Dining Guide.

We found Mr. Grouper's last fall and the food is very good, inexpensive, with an island vibe to it. It's not fine dining but their coconut grouper is very good.
