crab races

Hi all, One of the things we want to do while on St Croix is the crab races at the Fort C'sted Brew Pub on Monday. How early do the crowds start to build? Any other tips?

Tito and Sue show up at just about 5pm and start selling crabs right away. Get there at 5 for best pick but as Tito will frequestly point out sometimes it is the last crab purchased that wins. Make sure and pick a fiesty one. If you want a good seat then plan to get to the brew pub at 4:30 for a cold one. Mondays are usually all the draft beer you can drink with any steak entree. Facing the Brew Pub from the boardwalk the races will be at the far right side of the covered dining area. There are tables on the boardwalk too, take the one that is closest to the crab action for a good view.

Sue manages the Quiet Storm clothing shop in Christiansted. She is almost always there and is the best source of last minute crab info. Stop in and say hi...they always have good sales in there too.

....have a great trip

WE usually get to the crab races about 4:30 - 4:45 and that has worked out well. We try and get a seat at the bar near where the races are.

Have a great time - there are lots of prizes so many are lucky!
