Trip Report #7,Mother's Day

Jamie told us that Mother's Day at EAT would be loads of fun- food of course and entertainment. So after yet another fattening breakfast we go early hoping to get a seat inside. We arrive at ll and the place is already packed. We stop by the stairs and talk to a local couple with a Dalmation named Bacon and we share "rescue stories> Kat sees us and says to hang at the outside bar side for beach orders and in minutes she motions us up to our "regular" seats at the bar. We sip drinks and people watch. Later a young man and an elderly lady come to stand near us and grab the seat next to me and we marvel at this lady. Turns out that young man is one of the chef's here and this is his grandmother. His father is out of the country and he was given the pleasure of taking her out on Mother's Day. We introduce ourselves and she says her name is Marge. She talks about when she and her husband left the Boston area and sailed around the world for 17 years before making St. Croix their home. I am spellbound listening to her stories. More
