st. thomas hotel advice

I will be arriving after 8pm in St. Thomas. I'll be here until my friends pick me up at 4 pm the following day to go to St. John. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive place to spend the night and convenient for shopping, exploring the next day? Thanks

You might take a look at Crystal Palace located above town:

Ron is an excellent host and the place is unique and beautiful. Cheers!

The Crystal Palace should be your first choice, but just to give you another option, you might want to check Galleon House. I'm not sure of the website, but you can easily find it by googling.

Perhaps not as cheap, but a really great place is At Home in the Tropics B&B...impeccably clean, lovely decor, nice little pool, great views, and just down the steps to town.

Looks very nice but it says "two night minimum stay"- I looked at the website because I will probably need the same one night stay in a few months.

There's also Hotel 1829 or Inn at Blackbeard's.

I think I'll go with Hotel 1829. Good choice?

Right downtown is the Holiday Inn. I have stayed here many times for my extra night. Very convenient to stores and dining. Get up in the morning, go to Gladys for breakfast, shop, then go to hotel in the afternoon. Absolutely immaculate and run by Holiday Inn standar5ds, I know many people who spend their extra night here, no need for a taxi to shop or dine.

Richfen, I think it's probably a good choice. Really good location in the heart of town. Any of the places mentioned are fine for what you want.

Can you walk from the HI to the ferry to get to the BVI's?
