Couple of questions

I am looking to stay at Megans Point. Do I need a car to enjoy the area? How far is Jost Van Dyke? What is the enterance fee to the beach that is nearby?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Others will be able to help you with your questions on Magens Point Resort.

As to Jost, typically you would take a day sail (motor boat) from Red Hook or Sapphire Marina and make a stop at White Bay after a snorkel stop at Virgin Gorda or another location. Another option is a ferry from Red Hook to West End, Tortola then a ferry to Jost. And there is the Dolphin Shuttle out of Red Hook, you can check their site for pricing and availability.

Are you looking to spend a few hours on White Bay (Soggy $ Bar)? Or did you want to spend more time there and enjoy a day trip through the beautiful BVI?

Thank you for your quick reply. Not sure what I am looking for. Just looking to go away in May through our timeshare and this is one that is offered. We typically go to St. Martin, but thought a change might be good. ANY ideas would be greatly apprecaited.

A rental vehicle is recommended wherever you stay on St Thomas. Public transportation is very limited and unreliable and taxis charge per person which adds up very quickly. I believe the entrance fee to Magens is $4. I always get a local term pass so forget!

Here's a link to the inter island ferry schedules and rates. There is a direct ferry every day except Thursday from St Thomas to Jost Van Dyke - it's not a two step ferry process as crmoores indicates:

Magens Point resort is quite adequate and I've met many people over many years who've stayed there and had a pleasant time. All in all there's plenty to do and see on St Thomas. I've been to St Martin/St Maarten many times over the years and in my opinion St Thomas has more to offer. I'm of course not in the least bit prejudiced!

Magens is $4 per person and $2 for the car.
