$2,347.28.

Kidding. It's an impossible question to answer. If you're filet mignon and lobster eaters and eating out three meals a day, you'll obviously spend way more on food than if you're in a condo with a full kitchen and making your own breakfasts, packing your own lunches and eating out a couple of evenings on basic fare. If you take private taxis everywhere you'll spend way more than if you rent a compact car. If you hire a private charter boat for a day of snorkeling and/or island hopping it'll cost you considerably more than joining a group or taking a ferry.

Sorry not to be of more help but it's all very subjective!

To be safe, double what you would spend at home on food and drinks.

You can take the ferry to St. John which is very reasonable, or you can take the ferry to Jost which will cost you 70.00 PP round trip.

It would help if we knew what area you are staying and if you have a car.

If you go back a little, I left a pretty detailed trip report on what we did.

Agree with STT completely. We spend (on average) $2,500 for a week, though we did manage to make the same budget stretch over 10 days last year (if you exclude the 10 day Jeep rental). That includes perishable groceries bought on island (roughly $100), 2-3 lunchs at restaurants, all dinners at restaurants, and 2-3 excursions for the week (7 day Jeep rental also usually fits into that same budget). To save a little - I start buying non perishables 3 months before the trip (also start saving the extra ketchup, BBQ, mustard packets you get at the drive through) - and we take coffee, sugar, granola, snack bars, trail mix, peanut butter, lemonade and gatorade mixers, etc. with us in a checked bag. Groceries we buy usually include 1/2 gal of milk, cereal, pastries, lunchmeat, bread, fruit, yogurt, water, rum, beer. We always stay in a unit with nothing more than a fridge, blendar, microwave and toaster...so we don't take or puchase meet or things to cook an actual dinner. We eat breakfast of cereal and pastries on the balcony, pack a lunch and snacks and nightyly dinners are our treat and where we splurge. But, we olny have one meal that's over $100 - everything else usually comes in around $70.

Maybe someone who's done exactly as you plan on doing will pop in and give you a rough estimate on what they spent. St Thomas is seriously a "get out and about and explore" island and without a car at your disposal this gets very expensive. For instance, just to get from the Reef into Havensight which is only a 5 minute drive, will cost you $5 per person each way. Going into town will run you $6 pp each way, and so on. Here's a link to the taxi rates which may help your planning:

There are way nicer beaches to enjoy than those at the Reef and as far as food is concerned well, hotel food is hotel food at premium prices. You have a couple of dining options on the property but again the prices are going to be quite a bit higher than you can find elsewhere.

Anyway, hope you can find the information you're looking for and that you enjoy your brief visit here!

we are also staying on Frenchman's Reef and this will be our 4th trip..you should consider renting a car. There are many more restaurant choices all over the island at better prices. And there are so many beautiful beaches to explore. We didnt rent a car on our first trip and we found that our budget was eaten up by taxi fares, which at that time was for 4 people. Rent a car and explore.
