Quick questions... Coki Beach

Which days of the week are quietest and are Sundays going to be more packed than weekdays? Is morning better than afternoon? When do cruise ship people head back to their boats?

Cruise ships f=days are listed on many sites as well as in the newspaper. Cruisers tend to return to the ship 3ish. Probably get there around 11 or noon. They are other nice and quieter beaches as well. ie Smith Bay Park (Lindgvist) or Secret Harbour.

Most of the time how busy Coki Beach, or any popular beach, will be a result of the number of ships in port. Most cruise ship passengers have to be back on board prior to 5pm so they leave the beach just after 3pm. However, several of the huge cruise ships arrive late morning and leave after dark, so their passengers may still be on the beach until 5pm.

Here is a link to the cruise ship schedule, and as you can see the number of daily arrivals changes day to day and week to week.

Saturdays are usually the days with no or few ships year round. During the off season there are many days without ships.

In addition, and if you prefer to be away from the crowds, Coki in the early morning is gorgeous any day of the week. If it starts getting busy you can always head up the road to Lindqvist (Smith Bay Park) which is much less crowded. There's a little more activity on Sunday at the latter as a bunch of residents often get together there to do BBQ in the afternoon - but it's nothing overwhelming!

Update. Went to Coki today. Arrived about 11, a little late for me, but was able to park easily and get four chairs in a shaded area. The snorkeling was super. Better than I expected and better than both Sapphire and Secret Harbor yesterday. The beach was well protected by the wind which was also nice. There is definitely more of a cruiser population there but everyone seemed well behaved and the locals were extremely friendly. Food was just ok, but the drinks were great! It was a super day and we'll likely go back once or twice before leaving.

Coki beach is fun, I heard from somebody who recently moved there NOT to stay after dark.

Staying on the beach after the sun sets isn't a good idea anywhere here unless you're smothered in Deet repellent to keep the sand fleas from feasting on you.

There are a number of food vendors there, so I would love to know what you had and from whom. Maybe one of the others is better?
