where are grocery stores in the east end?
can someone give an example of the prices for grocery items ?
Thanks... Bob C....., Bob P.... Texas...
You can be rest assured the prices you see at Pueblo in that ad are not the prices you will find at Moes or Food Center -- I would venture a guess that 90% of them will be higher in those East end stores.
Most of the stores (including Moe's and Food Center) sell fresh baked baguettes for about $1.99 each. Sliced packaged breads are mostly at least $4.xx+.
Frozen orange juice (not Minute Maid. Some other brand that I can't remember) is $3.xx at Food Center.
Eggs at most stores are about $2.xx a dozen.
I buy UHT milk which is about $2.xx a box but haven't priced it at East End stores.
Snacks are very expensive at both East End stores. So are refrigerated dairy products.
The best value at all the stores is a rotisserie chicken. Usually no more than $7 and is very versatile.
If you have your own wheels, it's about a 10-15 minute drive to Plaza Extra in the Tutu Park Mall or CostULess in Market Square East (both on Rte 38) for better prices.
If you take taxis for grocery shopping you probably should just go to Plaza extra or Costuless and do one big shopping trip.
+1 on Plaza Extra and CostULess. Food Center has improved and is in a good location. We love Moes but bring a roll of money if you shop there.
