St John to the Baths - what are our options?

It looks like we would have to pay about $525 to charter a boat to go to the Baths, which is out of our price range. Is there a cheaper option, maybe a ferry or a regular tour boat? I'd love to see them but cannot afford that!

thanks,

jenny

Hi Jenny,

We're headed down in a few weeks and plan to take the ferry over to Virgin Gorda. This will be our first trip to the Baths so I can't speak from experience, but we're looking forward to it!!

Enjoy!! Here is a link to the ferry schedule.

The ferry is a good way to go, but it only runs from STJ twice weekly. It's the least expensive option and gets you the most time on the island. It also allows you to move about on your own rather than as part of a group. You can get a taxi from the ferry to the Baths, spend some time in the caves and at Devils Bay, then go up to the Top of the Baths or Mad Dog's for something to eat and drink. You could get a taxi back and poke around Spanish Town before you get the return ferry. You could rent a vehicle for the day if you wanted a more ambitious tour of VG, but just hanging out around the Baths area would probably be plenty to do.

We'll be in Coral Bay for Christmas and New Years's.

Is anyone interested in sharing a snorkeling charter to Jost and the Baths?

New Horizons is a popular group trip.

My mom and friend did Limnos to the Baths as well as other snorkelling spots. They liked the crew and the food and thought it was an excellent value.

Hi Jenny - don't miss the trip to the Baths! I'd suggest contacting Trevor who runs the activities booth at Mongoose. He can usually come up with good alternatives. Good luck, and enjoy.

Mongoose is a shopping area in Cruz Bay ("town"). The ferry drops you off in Cruz Bay....just ask anyone to point you in the direction of Mongoose Junction, it's less than a 5 minute walk.

New Horizons II and Breakaway are just a few - check out his page.
