Update on Asolare

Will be on island next month - we've always enjoyed a dinner at Asolare - food and view - but don't know if we should try it again this year. Read all of the posts here about the closing - seems like it is open again but I've read a few reviews which were not favorable. Any thoughts?

We were just there on New Year's Eve. The girls both had filet mignon and my DH and I had a fish called cobia. (apparently from Bermuda) It was a wonderful dinner, the best we had on St. John during this trip. Quite pricey though I must say!!!

St John experts - does anyone know if the same chef has returned?

I am also curious.

In 15 years of visiting STJ, we have never eaten there.

This upcoming trip, we have a fun goal to trying new things and Asolare is on the list.

We were just there over New Years and had dinner at Asolare on January 1. It was our best meal as well. We also loved Rhumb Lines, La Tapa and Morgan's Mango.
