Suburban 4wd

So 6 adults arriving late May with luggage. Our thoughts were to rent a SUV in St. Thomas and take it across to St. John for the week. The Jeep Commander or Durango look to be the largest SUV around. Does anyone know if you can rent a Suburban 4wd that would give us more room?

Thanks!!!!!

I believe that the commander and Durango are the largest. 2 cars would be a better option. Some of the rental companies rent safari trucks depending on where you are staying this may be an option.

As kealani mentioned - the Commander or Durango are the largest, unless you went with a van - but then you lose the 4 wheel drive option. Personally, I would not want to drive a Suburban - even if they offered one.

We went with 7 adults and ended up with two jeeps - turned out to be the best option for us. Whle we almost always started out together every day - inevitably, some people would want to go to another beach and others would want to head home or back to STT relax. In the end, we spent a little more money and had a lot more freedom and happier people than we would have if we had only had one vehicle.

I agree. You will be happier with two vehicles. Get two, 4 door jeeps. We managed to squeeze 6 of us into one jeep (we're friendly ; D ) to drive into town for dinner, but otherwise were very happy we had two vehicles.
