Lilly's market closed for good?

I thought I saw a few weeks ago that Lilly's market in Coral Bay was closed for renovations but when we stopped by today we were told they are closed for good by someone working at Aqua Bistro. Does anyone know if that is true? It doesn't leave but 2 small mini marts so you really do have to do most of the grocery shopping in Cruz Bay. Can you buy meat at either of the smaller stores?

There is fresh meat available at Calabash Market. We bought hamburger meat there two weeks and they had chicken and steak, too. You could also buy fresh fish from the fishermen on the harbor.

It's not a big deal to drive to Cruz Bay and shop at the larger markets there. And it's a good excuse to hit a happy hour or two while you're in town. :) Enjoy your time on island!!

Confirmed, closed for good.

Calabash Market is a great choice! They aren't cheaper than Love City ...but their meats and produce tend to be higher quality/fresher.

There is a rumor ...perhaps speculation ...that Starfish Market might open up at the Lilly's location. Could be wishful thinking ...or not ...!

Ok, that is disappointing. We stopped by Callabash and they were out of most meat and said to stop back by in a couple day. From a conscience factor it almost makes me want to stop staying near Cruz Bay instead!

Thankfully lost in translation I don't care about your opinion. We will stay where works for us. We preferred Lilly's over the other gas stations but to each their own.

I am glad to see another grocery option in Coral Bay and we're excited to try Calabash Market when we return in October. Both of our previous trips we had bad experiences with Lilly's. The produce and meat were all of poor quality and the two employees there couldn't be bothered to look up from the video games they were playing to make eye contact with us when we had questions. The icing on the cake was our last trip when we were told by the young man behind the counter that they couldn't accept credit or debit cards because their bank accounts had been frozen by the government. He said his dad owned the store but was in the middle east and he didn't have anyway to contact him about it and it'd likely be a couple weeks before they could start taking them again. Lilly's really had a fantastic location and hopefully the new tenants (whoever they'll be) will make good use of it!
