Full moon

Where is the best area to see the full moon rising, and does anyone know if Miss Lucy is having a full moon party this month?

Thanks

I would think Ram head would be ideal, but bring flash lights and take care hiking it in the dark.

Your welcome, but as I said becareful and read up about the hike because there are steep dropoffs if you misstep there is also a ravine that the trail passes, but that being said many people do it to see sunset and or full moon , just be prepared and excercise caution.

Just got home from "Miss Lucy's Full Moon Pig Roast Party". I'm afraid it was kind of a dud. It was not a party - there was one DJ playing popular songs to a reggae beat, We finally talked the people at the next table to go up and dance with us. They were on their honeymoon and so cute and so in love! It was not a "pig roast". There were 6 dinners offered on the menu including pulled pork for $18. Their regular menu is much better. Servings were small and we were still hungry when we ordered a dessert. Not much of a party atmosphere. We left after a couple hours and are now enjoying the full moon reflecting off the ocean from our view at our villa. I thought Miss Lucy's would do better than this. We loved going there on our last visit. We'll give it another try later this week with the regular menu. Hope our former server, Donna, is there.

WOW! That is too bad! Really sorry to read this. We have been to two Full Moon Dinners at Miss Lucy's and the food was excellent and substantial. No, not an actual Pig Roast but still great food and drinks. Recently, we were there in April and it was a packed house with Inner Visions playing ~ the ultimate Full Moon Party with lots of dancing and a great vibe. We also attended a few years ago when another great band played. It was such a party atmosphere then, as well.

Recently, I guess Miss Lucy's has been going through an up and down time. I hope that everything soon comes together for them.

I wish that it had been a better evening for you! Glad to read that you are enjoying a view of the STJ Full Moon! I have so many photos of that event! Keep enjoying!

littlebenn, I remembered your report and photos and guess I was expecting the same. I forgot to mention one thing we liked best about the evening - at one time during the evening there were 7 small children climbing the tree to the right of where the music is set up. It was great to see kids having fun and being adventuresome. One small boy's t-shirt said "Pirate in Training". Love it.

We went to Miss Lucy's for dinner last night and the food was wonderful. But better than the food was our server, Donna, who waited on us 4 times in 2013. She saw us arrive and ran to greet us with hugs and kisses. She took photos of us at our favorite "next-to-the-water" table and we had someone take photos of us with Donna. She is such a sweet heart. When she found out that we will be getting soon - after 23 years together - dessert was on her to celebrate. It's people like Donna that help make St. John feel a bit like home.

We shared the quinoa and lettuce salad with wonderful mango on it. I had the coconut grouper - yummy! and Dennis had the paella in a skillet. We were full but after about 4 hours of snorkeling that day, we were hungry. I still can't get over that we are eating dinner at such a beautiful setting so close to the water. Oh, did I mention the two limeindacoconut drinks I had - leaving the rinds on the limes when they are blended makes all the difference!
