We will be returning to St John over holloween and was wondering if there is an opportunity for our kids to do any trick or treating?
Well, they don't call it trick or treating, and I can't remember what they do call it, but people bring treats to Trunk Bay's parking lot at night, and the kids come in costume and go from car to car.
There is usually someone doing a bat talk at some beach (at least on St Thomas), but that may no longer be the case, because the presenter moved on to another job.
I've seen children in costumes walking around town and getting candy/treats/money from establishments as well as different tourists. We were sitting at Woody's one year and they gave away candy, we were giving dollar bills!
Mongoose Junction has a big halloween party every year. Kids and families dress up, the shops hand out candy. It gets pretty crowded, but it's fun to see the kids all dressed up. They do it pretty early, generally starts around 4pm. Remember, it's the tropics, and a lot of the pre made halloween costumes are constructed for hotter weather, so keep that in mind when making or buying a costume. Enjoy!
It gets crazy in Cruz Bay on Halloween! Lotsof adult bar party's. We use to go down then, this we arrive November 1.Everything opens back up! Make 9 of us adults happy.
thanks for all the great info it will a nice surprise for them. I will post a trip report to include them enjoying some candy.
