Sheraton or Wyndham for family vacation?

We will be travelling to Nassau this coming April, arriving Easter Sunday. We have narrowed our hotel choices to the Sheraton or Wyndham. Our girls will be 6 & 9. Looking for sun, fun, and water. We may stay a couple of nights at Atlantis but I think it is a little too big and crowded for us.

Any suggestions on which hotel is better for a relaxing family holiday? We like a full service hotel with nice rooms.

Is there an agreement between these two hotels for access to pools and beaches? I have read in the hotel reviews guests going back and forth.

Both hotels would be fine. They are right next to each other and owned by the same company (Bahamar). Sheraton is newer as far as renovated rooms, etc. Wyndham is still nice, rooms were renovated (C tower) over the past two years. Wyndham room rates in general are less than the Sheraton, and since that would be during Easter there might be more spring breakers. Also, if the casino has an event that weekend the rooms in the C tower will be reserved for their casino guests. If you book Wyndham be sure you stay in the C tower, rooms in the other towers are sometimes not as nice. As a guest at either property, you can use the facilities (pool, beach, etc.) at the Sheraton and Wyndham. And just an update...because I know someone will post that the Wyndham is closed until Oct 5th for renovations...they did not renovate the hotel as publicly stated during this closure. Just some minor maintenance. Also some good news, they recently signed an agreement with the China National Bank to bankroll the long promised resort development on the current property.

Thanks for your reply. I think the Sheraton wins. Does Easter week tend to be busy? Just wondering if we should book now or hold off.

If you have a decent rate.. book it now. Easter week is one of the heaviest weeks of the year.

The crowds (hopefully we have some crowds) should start going home on Easter Sunday. It should be busier then it is now, but it shouldn't be unbearable. Also plan on restaurants being very busy on Easter Sunday, plus the following day is a holiday as well in the Bahamas. Not anything to change plans over. Spring is a great time to visit, not too hot, weather very nice, and water temps not too warm, but not too chilly.

We were at the Sheraton this past April. I would highly recommend the Sheraton. The

Wyndham was loaded in April with young kids (teens/early 20's). I was so glad we were over at the Sheraton! There was no loud music or spring breakers at the Sheraton. It was very relaxing and the beach area was far larger on the Sheraton side. You can use all the restaurants/pool at the Wyndham at any time. Your girls will enjoy the pools at the Sheraton and the beach is just beautiful for them. No crashing waves...very calm and crystal blue waters. Keep in mind everything is expensive, and I mean everything! Have a great trip. Email me if you have any ???
