Nassau Cruise Day Pass

I have seen several topics on here regarding day passes for cruise passengers to either the Wyndham or the Sheraton. I was curious what the cost for each is and if anybody had a recommendation of which is better or a different recommendation for our day in Nassau. Our ship arrives 7/31/2010 and we are in Nassau from noon - midnight.

Thanks!

Currently the Sheraton day pass is $25, that get's you access to the pool areas, beach, and the Wyndham pool. They have some other offers that include a room for the day. Don't know the exact cost of that, and it's limited to availability of rooms. You pay for any food or drinks. The Wyndham day pass is $40, includes lunch at their buffet. Drinks or other food by the pool is extra, but also includes access to the Sheraton property and it's ammenities.

We went to the Sheraton at Cable Beach and loved it. $25 for a day pass. I will never go anywhere else for a cruise ship stop in Nassau.

There are 3 pools including swim up, zero entry and a water fall. Two Hot tubs. Plenty of chairs, umbrellas and palapas. Large clean non crowded beach. Bar and grill. Poolside service. Snorkeling gear for snorkeling from the beach. Non-motorized water toys such as trikes, kayaks etc.. as well as awesome restrooms for changing if needed.

There is a Casino that links the Wyndham next door. You can use pools & beaches at both hotels with paid access at the Sheraton or paid access at the Wyndham. The Wyndham has a very nice water slide.

I preferred the Sheraton. We arrived around 9AM and stayed until 3PM. We spend an hour at the Wyndham.

There is a little snorkeling at the Sheraton and a little at the Wyndham. It takes about 20 minutes to see it all at either place. So 40 minutes of snorkeling at a very leisurely pace. NO flippers required. The Sheraton is all about the beautiful beach and the 3 pools and two hot tubs. The Wyndham has a water slide, a large pool and small beach. The snorkeling area at the Wyndham is very very shallow and due to the rocks, there is no real current so there is a lot of algae on the sea grass. But there is actually more fish swimming in the sea grass then at the Sheraton. Perfect for kids.

The #10 jitney ($1.25pp) will get you there in 10/15 minutes. The bus is easy to catch right outside the Straw market. It stops right in front of the Sheraton and we waited less than 5 minutes to catch the bus to go back to the straw Market. We wanted to walk around some before heading back to the boat so it was perfect.

Did you have to buy the pass ahead of time or when you arrived at the Sheraton?

No need to buy in advance. I purchased at the registration desk when we arrived.

It's $100 a person if you include the room in the day pass at the Sheraton. that fee is good for up to 4 people supposedly.

Got back on Monday. Spent a lovely day at the Sheraton. Loved the water there. Not a very crowded beach. My husband was able to get out to the rocks to see all the fish and it was nice cause you could walk the whole way out if you needed to. Thanks for all the info.

do you have to pay an additional fee to snorkel? If so, how much is it? Thanks!
