Just back from Breezes (on Nov 20)... feel ask away...

Greetings All,

I'll be sure to post a full report soon, but I just wanted to let everyone know that in the interim I will be more than willing to answer any questions that I can!

So, fire away...

Hi,

I can only speak for our room (#534, oceanfront, west-wing)... the furniture in it was clean dated, but other than that our room was fine (clean, updated bathroom, etc).

Oh yeah, and it DID have a door to adjoin the rooms.

Thank you for an honest and thorough review, it gets really obnoxious when people don't explain their opinions. I also agree that it is ridiculously transparent that staff members from Breezes log on here and give 5 stars!

A few questions as my wife and I are going in 2 weeks.

- How bad is the smoking there? some reviews state there is a lot

- Did you leave the resort? Is the town worth seeing or just the usual Caribbean town?

-Is it true you can only get a reservation for dinner the morning of and only from 9am-11am?

- What did you do for water? Is the tap ok or did you pay for bottles

Thanks!

Not bad enough to ruin a trip!!! Depending upon who you sit next to (and which way the wind is blowing) it can be off-putting. But, (1) you can always move, (2) there is no smoking inside, and (3) there are a lot of Europeans there 9who tend to smoke more).

- Did you leave the resort? Is the town worth seeing or just the usual Caribbean town?

Yes, we left to (a) visit the casino down the street (not worth it), (b) go snorkeling with Stuart Cove's (well worth it), and (c) visit the port/Atlantis (port is a typical port, probably a little worse than most)

-Is it true you can only get a reservation for dinner the morning of and only from 9am-11am?

YES! we made sure to call every morning to get our reservation (even ended up giving one away the afternoon/evening we visited to port/Atlantis). Tips, if you call a few minutes before 9:00 they'll usually take ya.

- What did you do for water? Is the tap ok or did you pay for bottles. We didn't drink the tap water, but the water they serve in the restaurants is fine. We also bought a couple of "we NEED to hydrate" bottles in the gift shop... $2.50 for a decent sized bottle.

Mine is more of a statement then a question..... I'm not saying it doesn't happen that staff members leave fake feedback on tripadvisor.com but to say they are connected to "1 contribution" is a lie. My post (from 1 week ago) has only 1 contribution and it is an honest accounting of our vacation at Breezes. I think it's great that you posted an assessment of your trip but other people's assessments are just as valid and true!

Please don't take my statement the wrong way... I was only referring to the two sentence reviews that basically say "Bullet and his crew are the greatest"... and nothing else!

PS... besides, now you have TWO contributions! :o)

Hi CT-Bob,

Thanks for your very helpful and detailed review!

Several questions for you:

1. Are the room keys card type or regular metal "keys"? (Sounds silly but if they are "key" keys, I know to bring a lanyard to keep them around my neck if no pockets.)

2. Did they sell beer other than Kalik in the gift shop? If so, did you notice what kinds/approximately how much they cost? We have a pickybeer drinker traveling with us.

3. Did you notice if the rooms on the groundt floor had any type of patio? A little wall around them? We're trying to decide whether to ask for a ground floor room (we go in and out a lot) or 5th floor or higher. We have ocean-front reservations.

Thanks in advance for your help! We'll be there Friday. Can't wait!

This message is for Stevens, PA (breezes pleases) -Sorry for posting this to the entire forum - I couldn't figure out how to send you a private email until I'd already posted this.

We will be at Breezes on Friday as well - we are newbies to Breezes. You sound like people with the "scoop" on the resort. If you feel like giving out some free travel tips, we should be at the swim up bar by 5ish on Friday afternoon. Look for 4 Iowans - 1 bald guy , looks "mean" but is a teddy bear (Darrin), 1 guy with short brown hair and always telling BAD jokes (Steve), 2 gals - 1 with long blonde hair (Tammie) and 1 with shoulder-length blonde hair (Linda). We'll probably have mugs in our hands.

Speaking of mugs, will they fill mugs at the bars? We find them more eco-friendly and it clogs up the bartenders time less if we don't have to keep coming back for a beer so often

We'll be happy to "buy" you a drink!

Cheers!
