British Colonial or Comfort Suites Paradise Island

Which place would you choose for a 7 night stay? I know British Colonial is more downtown Nassau but they appear to have a small beach and Comfort while on Paradise Island with passes to Atlantis does not appear to have direct beach access.

Thanks !

There is no beach at Comfort Suites, but you access the beaches at Atlantis via the Atlantis property with your daily passes as a guest of CS. All depends on what your looking for...Hilton is a laid back and quiet property, while Atlantis offers lots to do. Albeit, with lots more people. Downtown is okay, it has many restaurants, and historical sites, but its very crowded during the week, and even more so with multiple ships in port. Atlantis has a casino, multiple water and aquarium attractions, and pretty much 24 hours of things to do. Plus numerous restaurants, on and off property. If I had a choice between these two, I would vote Comfort Suites, mainly because I like things to see and do, as I'm a bit of a busy body. Laying in a hammock reading a book on the Hilton beach isn't my cup of tea, at least not now. Maybe in ten years I'll be ready for that.

Other great advantages for guests of Comfort Suites include free hot and cold breakfasts and free Hi-Speed WIFI Internet access in all rooms that worked great during my stays.

The closest beach at Atlantis is about a 10 minute walk from Comfort Suites.

The Hilton's rooms are definitely nicer - it also has beautiful gardens and a nice small beach right on the harbour - a great place for watching the cruise ships come and go - look at photos of both in the reviews and see which one appeals to you?

From a water quality perspective, the harbor waters in front of the British Colonial are not as clean as the beaches on Paradise Island what with all the cruise ship and other boat traffic all day.

I've never had a problem with the water quality in front of the hilton and I've been around there for 25 years.

I spend at least 30 days a year on this property, and not once have I had a problem.

It's calm, beautiful and relaxing.

If Atlantis is not on your radar, then British Colonial Hilton would be my choice.

Staff is professional, true concierge services, lots to do in the area, steps away from restaurants, bars, and 90% of the tours.

Thanks for all the replies. I think it will be Colonial since I really want to have a beach & their rooms do look nicer. Choosing them will involve a couple taxi trips for s.o.'s scuba trips leaving from Paradise Island but a 10 minute walk to the nearest beach is not my idea of a good time.
