Atlantis

My husband and I are staying at the Sands Royal Bahamian but want to watch NFL Hockey on Saturday night. I read that Atlantis had a sports bar called the Twisted Lime. Has anyone been there? Any comments on the place and the food? Are there alot of TV's? Any other suggestions for watching the game?

I also read that there is a ferry which is a charming way to get there. Does anyone have any info on where you catch the ferry (right off Bay Street?) and the approx cost and how long it takes. Is it better to just take a cab?

When we get to Atlantis I understand you can pay for a tour. We will not be using any of the pools (we are an elderly couple) but think it might be nice to walk the property and grounds and maybe see the fish. A guided tour is always helpful so we do not get lost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Atlantis has a sports bar that will likely play the game. Twisted Lime is at Sandy Port, and they may play the game as well. Twisted Lime is closer to your hotel.

As for Atlantis touring, the only way to tour the grounds (and the lobbies since they are blocked by security) is to pay for a pass.

The Aquarium pass and tour is $40 pp during the day, after dinner it's left unguarded, and there are no tours, but you can wander thru.

The Aquarium pass allows access to ONLY the DIGS aquarium and predator lagoon.

In order to explore the rest of the property, you would need a full access pass.. which is $120 - $140 depending on your date. This includes pools, beaches, slides and lagoons, gardens, walkways and animal exhibits, it's the only way to access the entire property.

You can check out the casino and Marina Village (which is adjacent to the hotel, but not ON the property) for free anytime.

The ferry is $4pp and runs every 30 minutes from the wharf. They operate from 9:30am to 6pm. In the winter, they close at darkness. Getting on and off is sometimes a challenge due to the tide, so if you are less than fully ambulatory, I suggest you take a cab for the same price.

Thank you for the detail.

So the casino is on the property? Is the aquarium in the same building as the casino?

I heard you can tour the property after 6pm and there is no entrance fee. Is that true? Would you start at the casino?

Again, many thanks for your help!

Yes the casino is in the Royal Towers, near the entrance to the DIGS aquarium.

After 6 (7 in the summer) you are free to wander around. But they don't give tours after 5.

I'm pretty sure that they can put the game on for you in Cricketers. I've even seen Nascar races on the tvs in there.
