Update from Atlantis

Weather was great yesterday. Partly cloudy and no rain. Pools again were packed around the temple. I was in the royal towers at 930 and the line for the buffet was almost to the main lobby area. The line for platos was almost as long. This reaffirms my decision to for go the meal plan. In room breakfast at the Reef was much cheaper and we got out to the pools by 930. We were riding the slides without lines while everyone else were eating breakfast.

One other item to note was the lack of ATM machines. I figured if I went to the Casino there would be an easy way to cash. I never was at a casino where it was so hard to get cash. Most Casinos in the world make super easy to get money so they can get it back via the tables.

All of the ATMs did not take my card. I saw about 10 other people have the same issue. I finally had to get a cash advance on my credit card throught the cashier cage.

Does anybody no of any ATM machines at Atlantis that are not in the Casino

How do long lines reaffirm your decision to go for the meal plan???

Yes my main reason for not getting the plan was the fact that we had to eat breakfast everday. Breakfast is great but a buffet everyday for breakfast gets old and wastes time. The best time to hit the water stuff is when it firsts opens. Breakfast is the easiest to make in the room (at the reef).

ddppmm- if you're still there, would you mind finding out the price of a virgin pina colada? I realize prices vary slightly depending on what bar you're at.... thanks...MaryL31

eagleeye1- thanks, I saw your post on the specials, and it is much appreciated. But this doesn't help me when I'm at the pool at noon, wanting a pina colada, but NOT wanting to pay $14 for it- adding my own rum to a virgin is a thought, but I remember correctly, virgins are almost as much as the real thing.

If worse comes to worse with the ATM's, there a Scotia Bank on the Corner across from the Marina Village.

Don't know what the problem is with cards not being accepted. I never have a problem around town or at the Crystal Palace.

I think they take STAR, Cirrus and a few others.

When we were there, I think we payed the same price for both regular and virgin pina coladas ... they did not care if you did not want the rum.

It's was probably just a temporary problem with the cash machines being down....sounds like a temporary system outage or lost the connection temporarily....saw this plenty when traveling Europe..

I will check the prices on the virgins but i am pretty sure they were cheaper. I got 2 virgins and 2 regular at the cascade bar it was under $40. So the virgins must have been cheaper. The whole deal seemed too cheap but I didnt complain.

The Happy hour at the beach bar is not everyday. We went today and there was no happy hour. In fact the bar closed at 530. I think the happy hour is only wed-sunday.
