A few cheaper meals

Go to stay at the coral towers next week for a fortnight, have read lots of reviews saying how expensive the food is on the island.

Can anyone anyone recommend any nice restaraunts or any places were you can just grab a nice meal, without spending lots of cash.

thank you

Definitely check out Anthony's Grill in the mall across the street from the marina village. It's deceiving on the outside but the food and environment are great.

Woody 321:

Anthony's is a good choice, so is Zio Gigi's and the News Cafe both located on Paradise Island in the Hurricane Hole Shopping Center - they are walking distance from the hotel.

The Green Parrot located on the harbour in the Hurricane Hole Marina is also a great atmosphere and casual dining at cheaper prices.

In Atlantis - cheaper options are the Atlas Bar and Grill located in the casino - the bar is out front but the restaurant is tucked in behind it. Murry's Deli is also not as bad as other restaurants price wise.

Just over the bridge is Outback Steakhouse - reasonable in comparison to the hotel.

All of these are walking distance (Outback a bit further but certainly doable) There are other great selections if you want to take a cab.

Others I am sure will add more but hope that helps.

Have a great trip.

Anthony's is a good choice - better than the Green Parrot. I have not been there since they completed the Marina Village - but I am guessing that Johnny Rockets there would be pretty reasonable and there might be other options there too.

Our favorite Atlantis restaurante is actually The Point - which is located in the Harborside condo area. It is not as crowded and we have had very nice meals there that I did not think were too expensive - no more than a nice restaurant in the states.

Columbus Tavern on the opposite end of the island - up by the golf course on the south side is a very nice local restaurant. I would not call it "cheap" but did not think it was out of line either and the food was very good. If you go early enough you can take the Atlantis bus to the golf course to get there. We walked back with no trouble - stopping at the Cloisters on the way. Cabs are available but I think they are very expensive on Paradise Island.

We enjoy Anthony's also. Good variety and reasonable prices. No need for reservations and no long wait lines either.

You can also include a nite at Arawak cay's Fish fry. Moderately priced local food, weekend entertainment. It's worth the price of the cab if you go and enjoy the evenings entertainment.

Check out Seafood Haven, Twin Brothers, Briland Lounge, or catch a band at Goldies or Deep Creek on the weekends.

You can eat at most of the places mentioned across from Harborside. All are fine. Also, Murrys at Marina is really good and ok on price. You can also share most things you order. They may charge more, but they give you sooo much food! Senor Frog's is fun and you can share a large nachos and have plenty and have a fun time! The pizza at the marina is great. one slice is 6.00 but it is a meal. We ordered a whole pizza, large and drinks for 55.00 or so but it was huge and we would have been happy with a slice. You can go to Water's Edge in Coral Tower I think. It is 46.00 each but even though it is buffet style it is nice and great food. We ate here and Bimini Road. At Bimini it is good but expensive. It was 250.00 for two adults and a child. This is a good place to hang out at nice (just outside in this area) live music and it a great place to wait on Rush to begin at 9:30 on Fri and Sat. Don't miss this if you are there on the weekend. We had a nice dinner at The Point (outside) at Harborside. I think it was the same food as some other places at Marina and was a little less. A burger/frie and such at the pool bars are really not very over priced considering the location and the service. I think the people that whine sooo much should have taken their family to McDonalds for a burger and go spend a free day in a park and feed the ducks or something! HA! HA! If you like breakfast go across to Hurricane Hole for sure. It is really good and priced better and Anthony's has great breakfast also. I hope this helps. But we were a family of four, did everything we wanted and did not go broke.

Anthony's Bar and Grill, breakfast served there also

Quizno's subs, buy your water in the same shopping area

Bimini road was good, a little dirty though, not inexpensive

Bring snacks

Save your coffee cup in the morning and get refills during your stay at any of the coffee service areas, coral tower it's refill your own which is convenient

The pool areas have quick food and some of it is good, chicken wrap is spicy but filling, try the smoothies, expensive but refreshing

You must eat at the marketplace one night in the royal tower one night, the food is superb, and the bread pudding delicious!

Is the marketplace or water's edge buffet better for dinner and what is the cost?

We did water's edge for breakfast, typical stuff, nothing great, it was $40 for one adult and 2 kids. Includes drinks.

The Marketplace food was delicious, the stir fry was so good I dreampt about it and I loved the bread pudding, my kids loved the chocolate fountain, i didn't think it was good, kids will be kids. Price for 3 of us to eat was around 82, that is one adult and 2 kids, and they ask you the ages of your kids, mine were 10 and 11. My son had pizza and some fruit. My daughter had sushi and some samples of other things.

We also ate at the Seagrapes buffet the last night, they have cotton candy and more sweets for the kids, the food is basically the same but the stirfry was octopus with the tentacles on I almost gagged when i tried one. Those conch fritters which they rave about, i tried one, it wasn't good, i saw a conch in the dig as a demonstration and after that i can't see how they eat that like we eat chicken, yuck,

Save your coffee cup you buy once at the breakfast bar in the morning and then you can refill it at the table they set up with the refillable urns of coffee, etc. You save a lot of $. They have a paper waiting for you in the morning so I would grab the paper, walk down for coffee and have peace until the craziness of the resort set in. It was not a quiet vacation, so many people and kids all over. Hard to find a chair and the lines for the slides were so long my kids gave up often. They're all back at school now so you should have a nice time.
