GL Lighthouse Point

We have reservation for 2 days mid February at GL Lighthouse Point but i can't find any reviews at all and from what i have found it sounds like it is in the middle of construction.and not a very nice hotel at all. Are my assumptions correct and this Is this not a good hotel? Should we ask for a different hotel?.

When I "google" Grand Lucayan Lighthouse Point, I get the photos of the huge curved resort. I know that is the Grand Lucayan resort....is the "Lighthouse Point" resort different?

nope - one and the same - near as I can figure the property next to GL, Memories, used to belong to GL and was then known as Lighthouse Point, but when it was sold off and renamed Memories, GL renamed the hotel building "Lighthouse Point" however when you're there you'll notice signs for it under the old name of "Breakers Cay" - grandlucayan.com/blog/…

My husband and I spent our 22nd anniversary at the Grand Lucaya resort. It is beautiful. As well as you the GL was under construction so we were substituted with the big hotel. For 50 dollars more we upgraded our room before the trip and it was well worth it.. The rooms were lovely balcony and all. Very clean. The best part is that the Grand Lucayan Marketplace was just a walking distance from the hotel. Plenty of reasonble places to eat and shop, you'll trully enjoy it. The beach is also prestine and the pools are 1st class, as well as the hotel. The GL looked very nice and even more of an intimate stay and is located on the same property grounds just a short walking distance from the large hotel. To see it you will want to stay longer...trust me. We are going back in February of 2015 we enjoyed it so much. Oh, and by the way we celebrated there in April 2013 (beginning) and the weather was spot on. Be prepared for a wait on check in but not to worry dress for the beach sit down have a drink or two and relax the view is spectacular.(-:
