nighttime in Freeport

My boyfriend and I will be in Freeport for 3 nights in mid December. We are not "clubbers", but would definitely like to spend our nights chillin out, enjoying some live music, having some drinks, and hopefully making some new friends. Right now we have Count Basie Square and Red Beard's down for places to go, any other recommendations??

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Johann&Sandra, we're staying at the Radisson. We're not renting a car since we're only there for 3 nights, but we don't mind cabbing here and there as long as it's not too far!

Thanks :)

OK, which three nights - Friday Saturday Sunday?

It matters because not everywhere has something going on every night.

Coral Beach has live music every other Saturday Night at the beach bar. Upstairs at Bell Channel has live music usually every other Sunday and so does Margarita Villa Sandbar. Sundays Tony Macaroni's on the beach has live jazz, very nice. Garden of the Groves has live music on Fridays. Sabor often has it on Saturdays. Count Basie Square has good music on Fridays at 7:00 PM an Saturdays at 8:00 PM. Neptune's has music most nights at Port Lucaya, and a small disco that opens up at around 11:00 PM. Sparky's at Port Lucaya has a DJ that plays hip-hop mostly, very small but popular. If you want to go a bit native, Out da Sea (5 min. by taxi) and Mary Ann's (10 min) have live bands most weekends on their outdoor stages. Also Rooster's out by the shipyard has a great outdoor stage, and they just bought a bus to start running a shuttle service out there from Lucaya. Not sure if it's running yet.

In addition to these, check out some of the sunset cruises or booze cruises like Bahama Mama or Fantasia or Reef Tours' Wine & Cheese Sunset Cruise. There are also bonfires on the beach at Outrigger's and Taino Beach with Bahamian dancing and fun and games. These you have to pre-book.

Things always change without notice, so make sure to make some calls before you head out for the evening to make sure it's going on that night. Even the most recent information is often out of date.
