CB, of course you're right! every hour here is ... !!! HAPPY !!! ...
... HAH! ...
For OP, I think Sky Beach has a designated "Happy Hour" ... but I'm not sure. I can't remember ever getting a discount on a drink.
Sometimes two beers for $5.00 at Ronnies.
If you are looking for places that have a 2 for 1 type of happy hour you will be disappointed.
If you haven't done so I suggest going up to the restaurant tab above and look thru the pics.
Many have menus. I personally haven't seen any with drink specials.
Sounds like you haven't done much "homework" for Eleuthera, you should.
You do know that you stay LEFT for driving, opposite of the U.S. ???
Asking questions is good, you can also use the search feature with key words.
That said, many people will make their own happy hour where they are staying, buy a bottle/mixers, beer.
You can always go to a restaurant have a drink before dinner of course, but no 2 for 1 that I have seen.
Also, take a look at Google Earth to get a bird's eye view of the island you will be staying on.
PLEASE, PLEASE do your homework! If not, you may be disappointed. There is a saying that goes "Eleuthera is not for everyone". If you are looking for resorts, "five star" dining, nightlife, lots of shopping, casinos, etc. you will not find it on 'Lutra. And yes, we drive on the left on the island. The reason we are all mentioning it with such emphasis is that there has been a rash of accidents involving tourists driving on the wrong side of the road!
Thank you to those who gave real suggestions, that’s why I came here. Some of these comments are so rude. I was under the impression that reading forums on trip advisor 8 months before our vacation was “doing my homework.” I understand that Eleuthera and the out islands in the Bahamas are not like everywhere else and your options are much more limited for restaurants, bars, etc. We normally go to the USVI/BVI but that is not an option for our honeymoon.
Elizabeth, nobody is trying to be rude, some just have a different type sense of humor.
Good that you are researching (homework) 8 months out. We want you to enjoy your honeymoon
as much as you do.
Eleuthera is way more laid back and for the self catering. Many options for restaurants though not as many as you would be used to on the other islands you have mentioned. This is why I suggested you look at the restaurant tab. Another useful site would be eleuthera-concierge.com you can check grocery prices.
Maybe if you told us what you are expecting to do/activities, if you plan to eat out/in or both, what type of traveler you are in general, budget/high end, we could help more.
Harbour island is expensive, what are you looking to do there? Not trying to be nosy, just helpful. You will be the closest to it when at the ELH airport, it's just down the road at the harbour/water taxis.
Please do look at Google Earth to get familiar with the island so you know ahead of time what to expect.
You will need to rent a car, taxi's will cost multiple times what a rental would.
We can give tips to cut costs if you could give us a heads up on what you want your honeymoon to be like.
There are many good take-aways on the island that are very well received and $ friendly.
You can go on U TUBE and check out videos also.
Hope this helps.
We love our Hermit, he spices up the joint!
