"Only in the Bahamas ...!!"

Check out this video link, filed by one of the regulars on another Eleuthera discussion board. It's a scene from the Domestic Arrivals terminal at NAS. Enjoy ...

Is is the crab video? I can't access it here at work. One of my Long Island winter resident friends posted it yesterday. I hope they put the live ones back in the ocean!

If they're "crabby" now, just wait 'til they get to the line at immigration.

"And how long will you be staying ...?"

"Uh, 'til der pot starts ter boil, ma'am."

Aha, souvenirs from the Andros Crab Fest last weekend! I don't know why everyone was standing around -- I'd be catching them and taking them off for the pot.

Clearly the passenger was unaware that the carousel literally ejects baggage from the chute then rolls it over as it falls on to the conveyor. I had this happen to a cooler of fish and crawfish I brough back from Long Island last year. And since the fish and crawfish were nicely bagged with no moving parts or big claws, I had to practically fend people off from helping themselves. As it was, one bag of crawfish went missing!

JD, these are land crab who, though able to live around salt and brackish water, do not actually live in the ocean. They are great eating and popular for crab and rice, crab soup with dumplings and especially, crab backs.

Ah, I thought the land crab were more orange. I need a disclaimer at the end of the video... "No crab were injured in the making of this video" haha!!

Look like Alabama blue crab to me, although ours do live in the ocean/gulf and brackish water as well - yum!!

LOL! I doubt any were injured during the filming, but I can guarantee the ones that made it out alive went into a pot somewhere! Sorry to be so blunt, but they are so good that it's hard to resist them.
