Boat Rental

We are traveling to Exuma in May and wanted to see where we should rent a boat from and for how long? We will be there for a week and love to explore.

Rent from Minn's, for a day or maybe 2 if you love to boat.

As an alternative, consider taking a day tour to Thunderball grotto. We used 4C's and it was great. Then we rented a boat from Minn's for a day to check out local sights and go to the Chat N Chill.

We kept our Minn's boat for the whole week just to give us the freedom to go out when we wanted. Although the rental territory is not that large we enjoyed just being able to see (part of) the island from the water, snorkel from the boat, and go across to Stocking Island when we wanted - an early dinner at St. Francis then a sunset ride back across the harbour is nice as well as visiting Chat-n-Chill one day and Big D's another day. Of course, it may depend on where you are staying and how easy it is to get to the boat - we rented a house just a short distance from town so going to Minn's every day was not a big deal- I would not have wanted to do that if we had stayed a long distance from town.

We are staying 5 minutes from Georgetown, can we still take the boat over to Stocking Island or will we need to go there on a tour?

We have rented from Minn's 3 times. You can take a look at my reviews.

We have also rented the whole week instead of renting a car. We find it a great way to visit differnt beaches, snorkeling sites, restaurants all on our own schedule.

Be sure to check where you are staying to see if you can keep the boat there. Minn's is picky about that.

Also,I would suggest NOT geting the small boat as they can be a little unstable and harder to control. Plus it makes it nice getting from one spot to the next with a little more room and engine size.

You can go over to Stocking Island yourself whenever you want in a Minn's boat.

We rented a 19 foot boat for 2 days for a family of 5 last week. If we hadn't of done a tour with a local tour operator we would of opted for 3 days minimum. That way you can visit different beaches and snorkeling spots each day.
