We just spent a week at Red Ginger and would happily go back.

Great location, nice pool, swim-up bar with happy hour every afternoon, very reasonable breakfast with omelettes to order etc.

Was about AU$60 for last weeks booking. Price will depend on season though.

Ask for a pool view room as some face the empty paddock at the rear.

Maybe Wanna's Place? It is right across from the beach at Ao Nang, close to everything, has a pool, good food. The rooms were clean and roomy enough (with aircon).

When are you going? If it is before the end of October you will still be in low season. Golden Beach Resort is an excellent choice. They have Pavilion Suite Bungalows for around that price if you book through sawadee.com.

I think it is a pay 2 stay 3 deal - you just pay for breakfast on the extra night. The resort is right on the beach, just a little laneway runs along in front and is in the midst of the restaurants and shops.

Somkiet Buri is another in that price range, but a bit back from the beach up behind Aonang Villa.

Hi Shane,

We normally use sawadee for booking but saying that we also shop around and compare.

In this case we got the best rate by emailing the resort direct. We stayed 7 days at Red Ginger just before Songkran so mid May rates for you should be cheaper.

also try the web page directrooms.com it compares numbers of wholesalers.

We often find sawadee.com has very good prices.

They often have the pay 2 stay 3 deals.

Anywhere around the area of Aonang Villa is a good location. This is the main hub or restaurants/shops and right on the beach.

to add to the two I suggested above - Aonang Orchid is another good family option.... however, don't go with the superior rooms (they are in a separate building on the road side). The deluxe pool view rooms over look the pool and the huge limestone cliff.

Aonang Beach Resort is good and well within your budget, it is on the beach road and their mini suites have a queen & single bed, plus a small lounge area. The pool is small but nice. Golden Beach in the Pavilion Suites is beautiful. We have stayed in both places so if you want photos of the rooms just message me.

I am surprised Wannas is still showing up we use to always stay there but it is now the L Resort and a lot more expensive than it use to be.
