please any help appreciated we are a middle aged couple looking to book our first holiday in mexico in august flying from the uk we are looking for advice on an area /resort that offers a relaxing beach holiday that is quiet cbut could offer us the chance of excursions /trips to see a little of mexico during our stay we have a budget of upto £4000 any ideas of an area and hotels that would fit the bill,last year we went to caya coco in cuba so something similar would be great

If you want something more similar to Cuba, then I would pick the eastern side of Mexico . . . perhaps flying into Cancun. If you don't want the glitzy resorts of Cancun, you would find many small towns along the Mayan Riviera that would suit you. Any particular activities? How long would you stay? AI resort, hotel or condo? This site may help you choose the area you like - and then I would post on that specific forum for recommendations. http://www.cancunmap.com/
