Sunbathing/swimming options

We are going to Ensenada for 7 nights in and are fortunate enough to have family with a house there. The one problem is that we love hanging out by the water (pool or beach) and have no idea where we can do that. We would LOVE any suggestions!! Please and thanks! :)

Ensenada is terrific - even better when you have a family with a house there!

The only beach near town that I am aware of is right after the 3rd toll booth coming into town, called San Miguel. It has black sand and a rocky beach - very popular with the surfing community, it is rare to see beach towels and people sunbathing.

If it were me, I would contact Hotel Coral and Marina or Las Rosas Hotel and ask if they would offer a guest pass for the day. Hotel Coral has heated indoor and outdoor pool(s) and Jacuzzi(s), which, if you are going this time of year would be your best bet, because it is CHILLY right now. Las Rosas is smaller, but has a heated jacuzzi that has the best ocean view!

South of town are some beaches, perhaps near La Bufadora/Estero Beach, but I'm not as familiar with that area.

Not sure if you are wine drinkers but wine country is an easy 30 minute drive and has often been compared to Napa - 20 years ago - MAGNIFICENT!

Have a great time!

Thank you very much for your input! We ARE wine drinkers and plan on checking out the wineries too. :)

Wow, you are in for a real treat!

We've visited wineries throughout Northern and Southern California and we prefer Guadalupe Valley over ALL of them! Very little to no pretention, just wonderful people, excellent food, and GORGEOUS scenery. We go every chance we get.

Enjoy!
