Safety in going into Mexico from Larado, Texas

I am going into Mexico to deer hunt. Is it safe to travel in that part of Mexico?

Apparently not (if you're a deer at least).

You won't have any trouble. Just make sure that your weapons are legal.

The gun issue is very important as the last poster mentions. As to security though, it depends on where you plan to hunt. Many ranchos in rural Tamaulipas around Nuevo Laredo and in Nuevo Leon and Coahuila are not secure at all. Who is organizing the hunt? It should be someone who is a local and very familiar with current conditions at the specific location where you plan to hunt.

I have hunted this area for 15 years and not had any trouble. just be safe and once you get to your ranch.do not go back out. Do not be out in town at night.. if you are hunting with a outfitter you will be good. Go and enjoy the best hunting I know.. Love it there.. only good thing about the problems there is the prices for hunters have came way down due to the panic of some.
