Took a quick Labor day weekend trip with the fiancee to make wedding plans. Mom got down there before us, and stayed longer. The majority of the trip was wedding related (for mom and me at least, fiancee hung out at the pool), and I won't bother anyone with all those details. We did manage to sneak in a few fun things.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza, and had lunch at the poolside restaurant where my boyfriend says the hamburger was probably the best he's ever had. The club sandwich was also good.
Saturday morning did the snorkel trip with Swiss Divers, and had a great time. There were only two of us on the boat snorkeling, and we had our own guide. The other 6 or so went scuba diving. Basically the boat would drop off the scuba divers first, then anchor and let us snorkel. There were two different locations where we snorkeled. We saw plenty of fish (even a snake slithering along the bottom). The water wasn't as clear as one would find in Cabo or along the Caribbean, but it was good enough to see the fish.
Saturday evening we had dinner at Su Casa with some local friends, and it was wonderful. We were the first ones there, and had the attention of the entire staff. Wonderful service, wonderful food, huge portions, and a wonderful view.
Sunday we hung out at the Emporio's pool with some of our friends from Acapulco. We had a great time, and the pool-side service was great. My only complaint about the pool was due to the number of trees lining the pool. There were a lot of leaves in the pool, which made it seem dirty. The pool could have been skimmed more often. Other than that we had a lot of fun that afternoon.
Had dinner one night at Paradise, where everyone had the snapper, which was very good. Other dinners were at the Italian restaurant at the Crowne Plaza (don't remember the name, but the risotto was good) and VIPS (yes, I know, why eat at what is basically Denny's when you're in paradise, but it was across from mom's hotel, cheap, and quick. We ended up having breakfast for dinner. Not very good, but it did the job).
Overall, a good time was had by all. It was way too short, and way too busy, but it was wonderful to be back there again.
