Not sure what, but ...

Not sure what, but SOMETHING definitely needs to be done about the criminals in uniform (whether real or in fake uniforms and posing as cops)... I just clicked on the most recent review of LB (link on the left side of this page)... and it has gotten far past the point of ridiculous. The sleazy clowns in uniform seem to be causing an entire city that thrives on tourism to lose out.... I say get the Mexican version of the FBI in there to eradicate them and throw away the key.

(This thread will obviously get deleted or locked soon but feel free to sound off while it lasts) :P

These complaints have been going on for years, My friends kids were on spring break on the beach, in front of the Calinda hotel, when they were robbed by the police of $200. The police told them they were being fined for swimming in the ocean in Boxer shorts.

Their luggage hadn't arrived from the airlines, it was 200 or go to Jail. Poor kids gave up their money just like that. I encouraged them to report this to the Tourist Police near the convention center but they didn't want to take the time as they were having fun with friends. More local publicity is needed on this subject. Maybe the new mayor will make a difference.

Rolynn, surely you jest, it BEGINS at the top and then tricles down, corruption is king in Acapulco, like it or not. This is a big part of why Acapulco has lost the majority of it´s American tourism, corruption and greed and they are too stupid to stop it.

Perhaps some tourists could be prepared with their cellphones for a candid pic of these criminals and then immediately email the pics to themselves before posting them in the local paper?
