Secrets Huatulco

Thinking of booking this resort but wondering two things: Is there any nightly entertainment, shows, bands etc and is there any place to walk. It looks like the beach has rock sections on both ends that would be the farthest one could walk, is this correct?

I was at Secrets in mid January.

Yes ,they have shows every night in the theater. They are over about 10:30. they also have live music in the Sky Bar on some nights.

You can walk the whole length of the beach. At one end there is a trail that will take you to the next beach. Also just walking from room to tower where the elevators to beach are located or walking up to the spa will be a nice workout.

Remember it is in the 90's everyday. It is hot.

Have a great vacation.

Thanks for this reply. Has anyone walked the beach to the path and if so about how far can you walk. Just wondering if you were walking leisurely how far in minutes. We like to do a couple strolls a day when we are on vacation as it is the only little exercise we get.

If you want to stroll other than on the beach, you can exit the hotel and turn either left or right and follow the sidewalk for a few km either way. The road goes one way to La Bocana and the other way to Tangolunda - and the sidewalk is next to the road so you can always hail a taxi if you get too tired (or hot!)

Walk the road to Bocana beach. It's a fairly short walk food and cold beverages available here as well as surfing lessons and rentals.. A bit further is the nature park. Walk over and get the tour. Save yourself a bunch of money over the tour sold at the hotel for the Gringos. Take plenty of water with you and get a beach towel from bellboy on way out of Secrets.

Re: walk to the path to the next beach.

It's a short walk over to the fishermans shack/restaurant on the left (as you're facing the ocean), It's about a couple hundred yards and might take 4 or 5 minutes at most. Stay to the left of the washrooms and you'll find the very short path, about a minute walk, and you're on the next beach.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Also wondering if anyone knows which room category are the very nice ones Secrets has on facebook and their web. The rooms with the fantastic looking views.

Just returned from secrets feb 14th, the buildings with the best view would be building a or building d top floor, the preferred rooms are all the bottom floors and your view is obstructed by the roof of the building in front of you. Try for room away from the skybar as the noise level can be higher close to the bar, though the music stops at midnight. I would go back but ask for a room on the third floor as the view is better and you don't have someone walking in heels above you. Remember to bring long pants for dinner as the only restaurant that you can we're long shorts to at supper is the castaways, even the main buffet when it is open for supper (about twice a week) requires long pants for the men, also no sandals for supper they require dress shoes though they did let men in with sneakers.
