Dvd players in Mexican hotel rooms -

On our trip last month to Playa Del Carmen, we brought a couple of movies from home. When put them in the DVD player in the room the screen read "wrong region" and would not play the dvd...is there a way around this? or do I need to bring my own player? Has anyone else experienced the same problem? We are leaving for Manzanillo on Tuesday (Las Hadas) and at least one night will be movie night. Thanks for your help!

Most players purchased here in Mexico(region4) are not able to play DVDs from Canada/US(region 1), It depends on the region code and each DVD player may be different. There will be a label on the back of the player to indicate the region it is from.

You can purchase players in Canada that will play all regions. That way you will be able to play DVDs purchased in Mexico and play them back in Canada.

Thanks for choosing Mexico, and specifically Manzanillo, as your next vacation destination. We appreciate your support. Have fun!

Hasta luego, Saludos!
