Presidential Visit mañana

Tomorrow president Caldron will be in Manzanillo to launch the new regasification plant. With security measures in place, expect things to be different than normal here today and tomorrow.

Might be good beach time ...relax, .. enjoy ..

President Calderon was in Huatulco a few weeks ago to officially open the new and longer runway at HUX........About 200 "Federales" were at the airport during his visit.....

Does this mean the end of the coal burning plant once and for all....?

Don

Let's hope this is the start for the end for the coal burning plant. Please keep us informed on what goes on with the coal plant. We would sure like to see that plant shut down. Had a great time there a couple of weeks ago but there was never a good clear day and the smell of coal was in the air.

Woo Hoo! I though he was supposed to be there last week, but as long as he's there and the plant is getting switched over - all is good.

Well Mr President caused us a lot of grief...Manzanilo Airport was closed on Mar 27, the day we were supposed to fly home. Apparently a Military plane landed (here due to Mr President) and blew its tires and ended up stuck on the runway (they didn't have the equipment to remove the plane on hand)...therefore canceling incoming and outgoing flights. There were many rumors we heard from the staff at our condo...everything from a plane crash and/or reports of a bomb on a plane...and these were just rumors. We just aren’t really sure exactly what the problem was.

We weren't notified by Air Transat that they were bussing their people to PV for a flight home...so we're still here in Manzanillo. We do have a flight out of PV tomorrow...and luckily, through Buffalo Don we have a ride to PV early tomorrow morning in order to catch our flight.

We've had a fabulous time here in Manzanillo and are coming back next year. This has been a bit of a frusterating experience, but by this time tomorrow hopefully we'll be home and chuckling about it....and wishing we were still there. :-)

your lucky you didn't take the bus ride to p.v.- unlike us ! :( it was a terrible experience! we didn't know anything till once we were on the bus and then was informed about the incident... so there was a bus full half with young children and on our way for a 4 hr bus ride.... well that 4 hr bus ride turned into 6 b/c we blew a tire and had to make 4 stops before we found a place that had a tire for us.... so there was a 6 hr ride and only served chips and a drink... you tell me how many kids eat chips and pop? well mine doesn't and if i would of known that we were in for such a long bus ride i would of planned things . eg) taking buns, etc from the buffet so he would have something to eat, etc..... then the bus driver was a terrible driver like most in mexico and half the bus was throwing up! what a experience...... then we get to p.v. and have to rush as the plane was boarding already and to get a $3.00 head set free is what transat thought was " thoughtful"!!!!!!! after that day we had .... nice....
