Three weeks of eating out and only gained 7 pounds! We tried to sample as many restaurants as possible but found ourselves returning to several more then once:
Te Amo Lucy we were not disappointed as we went for the holiday special stuffed chile relleno in walnut sauce, wow what a treat and Tony and Lucy were very entertaining.
Seafarer We have had dinner here previously and again were not disappointed, very good food and great service. Bonus was we meet Jock who played the trumpet and clarinet for us, visiting with him was a treat.
Ernie's tomato First time here and we went back for more, great food and service, in fact too many waiters. Great prices and large portions of food. The stuffed chicken with cheese herbs and wrapped in bacon topped with white sauce was outstanding. eat before *pm as the place turns into a night club after 99 and is very crowded.
Three Amigos. another new place, good cheap food and strong drinks. Live music and now that they got new TV's to replace the ones recently stolen a great place to watch the games. The owner Lee makes you feel at home.
Playa Bruja Mr Lionso's a place we continue to return to for great seafood and the 2 for 1 drinks. The seafood plate for 450 pesos will feed three, lobster, shrimp, fish etc. The head waiter Chris is great.,
Pedro Lola The place to go on Friday or Saturday night for a romantic dinner, Great food and a good wine selection. Live music is great to listen to during an after dinner drink.
Gus Gus A Golden Zone staple, OK food and good drinks. always lively with good live music. Abel our number 1 waiter always takes good care of us and Robert is one of the better lead guitar player around.
Last Drop A great sports bar with good food, the pizza is great and the monster burger is one of the best in Mazatlan. A little ways out on the Playa Bruja unless you are staying on the north end of the new marina, The owner Issac is a great guy, even gave us a ride to our condo after the Seahawks win Saturday as we had a few too many.
.Lety's On Stone Island, good place to relax and enjoy some good cheap food while negotiating with the local beach vendors. The chicken kabob is great, never tried bananas on my kabobs but will now.. Sad to find out mama Lety passed away last January.
La Regional Took over the Old Mr Aces, great cheap local Mexican food and ice cold beer, great place for lunch.
Heather's place Great breakfasts pancakes are great and all you can eat with their special number 2
Munchkins My son might put them out of business as he and his friend ate there several times going for the all you can eat ribs for 110 pesos.
Ponchos saved the best for last, we ate there 3 times and were never disappointed. Poncho knows how to run a restaurant and also entertain you. Food is consistently great, service outstanding and the best flambe bananas in town.
Oh and we had the best baked potato with chopped steak, cheese and other ingredients one night on a side street vendor who sets up shop every evening but Mondays on the side of a street in the Centro District, hope I can find it again on our next visit. Also plan on visiting several more restaurants we missed this trip.
