Where is Bucieras in relation to Neuvo Vallarta? Probably a dumb question... I'm not familiar with the area, but have seen a few people refer to it in reviews. Is it worth traveling to?

They are next to each other, to the north of Puerto Vallarta. It's a small town. Sure, it's worth a visit.

You can find maps in various guidebooks (Fodor's or Moon are good for PV and the surrounding area) or online at vallarta-info.com.

Seeing a map of how things lay around the Bay of Banderas will be very helpful for you in trip planning.

depending on where you stay in Neuvo, you can walk the beach a short distance to Bucieras. The RDC is only a 10 minute walk or so I have been told. Ask on the Neuvo forum with a question like "distance from resorts to Bucieras?" and you should get a lot of responses.

"Is it worth traveling to?"

I guess that really depends on what you are seeking by going there. It's a small town, just to the north of Nuevo Vallarta, and provides a real opportunity for a change of pace to the latter, and city.

We stayed at the southern-end of Bucerias a few years ago and absolutely loved getting into the town and absorbing all the sights & sounds. A long and beautiful beach, pretty streets, small, lovely town 'square', with church and grounds, street-stands, nearby restaurants & shops, flea market, etc. And very friendly people to go along with it all!!

Take a peak over at the newly-created Bucerias forum - and consider posting over there. Lots of TA members know and love Bucerias!!
