Tide pools

We are interested in seeing tide pools in or around PV. I read that there are some at Conchas Chinas. Is that a walkable distance from Los Muertos?

Any ideas or tips on tide pools in PV?

Yes and no, rocks to climb over, low tide advised.

There are also some on the north side of the bay, but a lot of the area has been built with security minded developments that make access very difficult, if not impossible. Al against the law, BTW.

Bucerias to the north on the beach should be good.

Also at Playa Gemelas south of town.

Yes, just south of the rocks on the south end of Los Muertos is Playa Amapas and Playa Conchas Chinas down to Hotel Lindo Mar. The tide pools are around during low tide but there really nothing inside of them and they are quite small.

Be careful going over the rocks, they can be loose and slippery. Not uncommon for someone to slip, twist their ankle or fall.

For 'real' (= rocky shore, low tide) tidepools, you will have to go to the (open ocean) coast, i.e., north or south of Banderas Bay. Beaches within the Bay are sandy, some rocky outcroppings and minimal tidepools in some areas, but nothing like out on the open coast
