Going to other resorts

We'll be coming in Feb 16th..staying at Playa Los Arcos..we've been going to Mazatlan 2x a year for the last 3 years and this time decided to change and come to PV.. we haven't been to PV since 1997 for our honeymoon..how feasable is it to go to other resorts in particular Lindo Mar..and eating at the restaurant..drinking at bar and using the pool..beach?? we've done this in maz with no problem..or possible Dreams..just for the fun of another resort experience for an afternoon??

You can go to Lindo Mar as the restaurant, La Playita is open to the public as well as the beach out front. Their pool though is for registered guests of the hotel.

Dreams, and all other All Inclusive only resorts do not allow non-guests on their property unless they buy a day pass. Most day passes run about $60 to $80 US per person. All Inclusive Only resorts are not set-up to accept money for bars/food as their clients have already paid in full.

There are hotel/resorts such as the nhKrystal that allows people to come and visit the resort and pay a fee that is deducted from their food/drink bill.

Tropicana Hotel (just down the beach from where you are staying) has let me use their pool, when I've had lunch/drinks in their cafe.

But I'm not sure what you'd gain... it's pretty much the same set up and ammenities as your own hotel.

Lindo Mar will happily welcome you to eat/drink on premises and use the beach area, but yep - the pool and the infinity hot tub are for guests. It's not a big place so IMO, that's fair.

But the food and drink, AND beach, are great.

As stated, Ai's are for guests only but any non AI resort will welcome anyone as all food and drink and paid on a per item basis. At some AI's they will allow you to tour their facilities with an escort if you say that you are thinking of staying there next trip and if they are not busy. We have done that a few times. You see the grounds and pool but can't eat or drink. If you want to spend the day (usually 9 AM to 5 or 6 PM), many AI's offer days passes. Rates vary from about $50 and up.

Well that kinda answers my ?..we do want to see the Lindo Mar..and they're facilities..and we really want to go to Los Tules..as that's where we stayed in 97 and curious as to how much it's changed.. we would never stay at a AI resort only ..so we'll drop the Dreams idea..Thanks!!

sandi - if you are interested in the Lindo Mar you really have to see the rooms if you like it. You can rent units there on the cheap through Trading Places - I did that in 2005. They own the LM and offer unused timeshare weeks at great prices. Incredible...

You can go to their website for menus at the restaurant too. (-:

You can have lunch or dinner at Cafe Chapultapec in Los Tules by their main pool. You will be welcomed. As former owners, we go there to see old friends.

Can anyone list any other AI type properties which either have 'accessible area' or do a day pass thing? Prefer the 'accsseible area' type as not so sure I want to pay major $$' simply to look at a property and have a drink &/or lunch.

Would love to see Dreams (though the name makes me gag - Camino Real works much better for me) from a nostalgic perspective. Do they have day passes?

Gracias for any info

Holly

Dreams day pass is $80.00 US per person, for about 8 hours or so. At least it was in November, it may be more now.

The Sheraton is a great place to go for their Sunday brunch, you can spend hours there and probably blend into the pool:)
