1. Re: wooden bowls

When I was there in February, there was a man selling wooden bowls on Los Murtos beach. He was there every day.

Also, if you care to venture out on a short boat ride to Yelapa, there is also a rosewood shop called Jasiers rosewood shop. They have a wonderful assortment of bowls and many other handmade items. I'm not sure if it is actually rosewood, as I've heard JR mention that they actually use cocobolo wood. Talking with them in February, they mentioned to us that if there is something specific they we wanted, just to let them know ahead of time and they would have it ready when we came.

CocoBolo is not a true Rosewood, which is Brazilian or Indian. Beware that, if you live in a very low humidity area, like Arizona, the wood may 'check' when it dries out, very difficult to dry the wood down here in our environment.

3. Re: wooden bowls

We just returned from PV 2 days ago and actually purchased a bowl exactly like you are describing :)

The place we purchased from was near the Malecon. If you stand on the pedestrian bridge that has those big white "sails" on one side closest to the water, behind you will be stairs down to a shaded path filled with vendors on each side that goes all the way to another bridge. It was purchased in one of those, it was on the left.

We got a heavy laquered bowl with fruits painted on, but they also had florals, chiles, etc as well as styles with lids :)

Hope this helps!
