Depends on where you are staying- how many are going, etc. For the most part, taking a bus is easy and economical.

Catch the bus at Walmart and take it directly to Sayulita. Walk 3-4 blocks into town. Look to yr right and u will start seeing water. As soon as u hit the beach, waiters will start asking u to have a seat. Keep walking until u see a place u would like to have lunch and spent the day.

We always take the bus. It is interesting and easy. Then we go to the beach and sit at Don Pedro's. 50 pesos a person to rent a beach chair but if you spend so much in food and drinks then they don't charge you. They also let you bring your own booze. Wonderful shrimp and bacon pizza! Enjoy!

How long a bus ride is it to Sayulita? Is it just a beach destination or is there a town to explore (sorry, never been to PV before). Thanks.

Lots of little fun shops there. Wonderful to walk the little quaint streets to see and experience everything. They say it is what "Puerto Vallarta used to be like years ago." It's a surfers town and very fun to people watch on the beach. There are vendors on the beach.... the same as PV....but many of them seem to sell different kinds of things. It's fun. You can even see a pack of horses making a stroll on the beach! One time we were there we saw a great artists' display of huge paintings right out in the open at the main square as well as many special vendors selling their wares alongside them. There was a lady making orange juice and we stopped for some at her cart. Right beside her cart was a huge log with a machete sticking out of it! Guess that's how she cut her oranges. Made for a good picture!

I've only gone by car (a driver) and it took around an hour. That way we could come and go as we please. But it does cost more to do that. Another option our friends did was negotiate a price with a taxi driver. He took them, waited for them all day and drove them back home for 100.00 usd

Sayulita has nice beach with a layed back atmosphere, nice little village feel with many little shops & restaurants. Takes about 60 to 80 minutes depending how busy bus is (30P) We normally go on a Friday as the local market is on from 10am till 2:30pm (Great Market)

. We were there last Friday & everyone on the beach was charging 200P for a table/umbrella & 2 chairs even if buying food/beer there !!!!

Cpt. Cooks was only place with free seating if buying food, we stayed all day & had lunch & supper there, great food reasonable prices, good service.

If swimming watch for the BIG tyre buried in the sand, swim to the south of it & it is a sandy beach north of tyre is rocky.

Be PREPARED for beach vendors !!! Be nice they are just trying to make a living ! If it really bothers you Cpt. Cooks will supply table sign in spanish.

Thank you everyone including the PM I got.

I think we will go by bus.

Thinking of leaving pretty early, maybe the bus wont be so crowed going that direction so early?

Since this is the only day we will be going is there a MUST eat place that we can park our feet and rears in the sand? Thanks for the pizza suggestion.... but its got to be Seafood or Mexican :O)

Someone mentioned a tyre.... dont know what that is but we need to be sure to find a spot beyond that I am assuming

21 more sleeps!

I believe "tyre" is the word Canadians or use for tire.
