We are a british couple aged 23 and 25 looking at coming 2 weeks next june we really liked the look of the dreams villamagna but worried thar it might be to quiet an area for us as we like to have a good drink and time and night. The othrr other 2 hotels are now amber and dreams puerto vallarta would these be a better choice?

Dreams VM is 40 minutes north of downtown PV.

Dreams PV is 15 minutes south of downtown PV.

Now Amber is 10 minutes north of downtown.

Have been to DReams VM five times. Has a great roof top bar (open til about 1 AM) but not much else in the way of a nightlife.

Buses and taxis are reasonable and plentiful all around the area.

I have not stayed at Dreams PV but have information on day passes there, if anyone is interested. I had to research on an upcoming April booking so many emails back and forth gave me this info:

Day Pass- 10:00am-6:00pm.....(75.00-99.00usd per person)

Night Pass- 6:00pm-1:00am.....(55.00-75.00usd per person)

Full Pass- 10:00am-11:00pm....(100.00-150.00usd per person)

PV has the nightlife and easy access to town. There are many clubs on the Malecon and other choices around town. Depending on how much evening activity you want.....you may not find enough in Bucerias which is the town that serves Nuevo.

Also in the way of information......if you decide you don't want to always take a bus into PV from Nuevo where Dreams VM is, then a cab is around $22 US ...that's one way. Then if you go back to the resort late in the evening you'll have no choice but to take a cab since the buses will stop running.

I would say that Dreams PV is only a 10 min taxi ride to the south side of town where most of the shopping and night action is, plus it has a great little beach.

If you stay at any of those resorts since they are all AMResorts, then you can go have a look at the others at their dine around program. You would check with your own concierge that day to see if they have room for you and you get your own transportation to the other hotel and you can have dinner there. Just an option if you wanted to check out the others:)

If you're open to boutique hotels, check out Hotel Rio, which is right in the heart of downtown. It's a cool little spot with a roof-deck, a nice pool area, and a great bar/restaurant. Plus it puts you within walking distance of all the action.

We also love Hacienda Alemana here in Old Town, which is super nice for the price and also centrally located.

I would recommend Dreams PV;, better location, beach & tropical setting. It is located on a semiprivate beach and only a 5min. bus or taxi to town.
